Symptoms, Causes and Troubleshooting of Drive Shaft Dynamic Unbalance Failure

(1) The phenomenon of dynamic imbalance of the drive shaft

When the technical conditions of the universal joint and telescopic fork are in good condition, the car makes periodic noises, and the higher the speed, the louder the noise, and even accompanied by body vibration, the hand holding the steering wheel feels numb.

(2) Reasons for the dynamic imbalance of the drive shaft

①The balance weight on the drive shaft falls off;
②The drive shaft is bent or the drive shaft tube is recessed:
③ The drive shaft tube and universal joint are not welded properly or the drive shaft has not been subjected to dynamic balance test and calibration;
④ The telescopic and dislocated installation cause the universal joint forks at both ends of the transmission shaft not to be in the same plane, which does not meet the constant speed transmission conditions.

(3) Diagnosis and elimination method of dynamic unbalance of transmission shaft

① Check whether the drive shaft tube is dented. If there is a dent, the fault is caused by this; if there is no dent, continue to check.
② Check whether the balance sheet on the drive shaft tube falls off. If it falls off, the fault is caused by this; otherwise, continue to check.
③ Check whether the expansion and installation are correct. If it is not correct, the fault is caused by this; otherwise, continue to check.
④Remove the transmission shaft for dynamic balance test, if the dynamic balance is not balanced, it should be calibrated to eliminate the fault. The bend should be straightened.
